GENERAL REGULATIONS

•LAKE PATROL officers are authorized to enforce all laws, ordinances and regulations in effect on the waters of Big Bear Lake.

•BOAT PERMITS must be properly displayed on all boats.

•BOAT PERMITS may be suspended or revoked when the permittee, owner or operator violates the terms and conditions of the permit, this Code or other requirements of the law.

Public Boat Launches in Big Bear

There are two public boat launches on the northshore of Big Bear Lake operating April thru October. Both public boat launches have places for fishing. There is ample shoreline for Easy Up’s and a picnic lunch. The Duane Boyer Public Launch on the west side is about 1 and a half miles from Fawnskin. The Carol Morrison Public Launch is on the East Side (near Stanfield Cutoff), you can launch your vessel from the public launches until 6 pm. Be sure to park in the provided areas so that you can disembark after gates are closed to incoming vehicles. Both launches have offices where you can purchase boat permits. Boats going into the lake are regularly checked for mussels.

Our seven mile lake is known for its Big Bear fishing and hosts several annual events. Big Bear sponsors the Jim Hall Memorial Trout Classic in May. Don’t miss the October Troutfest.The lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout and we know where the fish are biting.
