Inner Tubing the Slopes of Big Bear Lake, California

Added: Mar 09, 2019
Category: Winter in Big Bear

Get ready for an extra special treat when choosing to venture out of the cabin and visit one of these snow play commercial attractions.

When snow is on the ground you can have fun anywhere in Big Bear, but for guaranteed snow and safer fun you’ll want to visit our two snow play areas.

Winter is in the air, although we’ve already had some light natural snow, Big Bear Snow play slopes have their own snow making machines and the temperatures overnight have been cold enough to make enough snow to cover the hills.

Big Bear Snow Play boasts the longest inner tubing runs in Southern California. They also have a run customized with a series of twists and turns, complete with banking snow berms that make for an exhilarating unpredictable ride. This run is known as the Snake.

Once the season is in full swing the snow making will have up to 30 feet of snow pack. The snow is groomed each night to make sure it stays perfect for riders. There’s a kids area appropriate for younger children.

Aside from the thrilling rides down the slopes, another great feature of the Snow Play is their Magic Carpet lift. This lift automatically takes you to the top of the tubing hill without any extra effort on your part. It’s an covered escalator that continually runs all day, so, once you ride to the bottom on the slope you just hope back on and be taken to the top.

The lodge on the property offers a snack bar and video arcade games. This also makes a great area to plan private parties at.

Hours of operation for the Big Bear Snow Play is everyday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  You can buy individual rides, a series of rides , or a daily pass.

Snowmaking will also begin at Alpine Slide. Another exhilarating ride are the bobsleds of the Alpine Slide, the only bobsled ride in Southern California. The slides are open weekends, as well as the go-karts and miniature golf area.

Big Bear Snow Play is on Big Bear Boulevard just west of Division Drive next to Motel 6. For more information, call 909-585-0075.

Alpine Slide is one-quarter mile west of the Village area of Big Bear Lake on Big Bear Boulevard. For more information, call 909-866-4626.
